The seed doesn't fall far from the tree

The unconventional self portrait was a difficult assignment for me. I pushed this assignment off for days. I guess I was just uninspired those days. I thought back to my elementary school mascot, the Sequoia. I thought "Yea I'm totally a sequoia". However I am not wise enough to be a sequoia. Not yet anyway.

Oh yes,

A giant Sequoia,

All must hail your silent

elegance.

Your thick bark,

No one can hurt you now, but,

your eloquence is no match for mine

What you lack in brains you make up for in height.

I do not, what I lack in height I make up in brains.

26 stories high,

Yet I can make 26 stories in my mind.

You can live forever,

You know secrets of the world

That's something I can only dream

dream...

I dream to climb as high

I dream to soar with the eagles

I dream,

yet you are only a dream

and I,

I am only a sapling.
